67 f350 brakes

Post by tboy »

I have a 67 F350 dually. I cannot get the brakes (all drum) to work consistently. if the drums are too worn can they be replaced? Is there a way to remedy this or do they sell thicker pads for this problem? any help would be appreciated. I dont have the scratch to change to disc brakes and dont figure the bolt pattern would match anyways.

The bolt pattern will match if changed to disks. They sell new drums.

Thanks. When I asked thenparts house they did not think I could get new ones so I will try again. I am not experienced enough to adapt some discs from other models to this truck. Is that what it would take?

To swap to disk brakes, you would need to swap the spindles, caliber brackets, calipers, hubs and rotors, AND steering linkage from a 68+ F350 with the same steering (power or manual). Just swapping the caliber bracket, calipers, hubs and rotors can be done, IF you source the custom outer bearing needed for 67 spindles, but they're kinda expensive and hard to source.
