i know this isnt the place for 1964 pickups but maybe someone here knows the answer im looking for. as im getting none else where.
i am adding a booster to my 64 f100 and i have a decent "stand in" i may use out of a 66-67 fairlane that would require minor modifications.
my question is what brake booster bracket will fit my 64?
will our 1967-72 (and some 73 and up) brackets fit?
any info would be great thanks
the truck is 64 f100 custom cab 2wd short bed with a (not original) 289 c4. manual everything

Re: 1964 f100 question
I have a booster on my '63. Not sure what it's off of. Just make sure the donor brackets are flat and not angled where the bracket meet the firewall and where the booster attaches to the bracket. It's going to take some fabrication because these trucks never came with power brakes. Just wing it.
Or, look for someone parting out a '66. Try the guys over at http://www.slick60s.com/index.php
Also, replace the master with a later drum brake master that has separate reservoirs for front & rear. You'll need the dist. block, too. With the original '64 master, if you blow a wheel cylinder, the pedal goes to the floor and you have zero brakes.

im simply going to add in a booster with a suitable bracket. the only flaw i could see is the boosters 'rod/stroke' lenth setting being different then what the MC brake push rod is, in the MC. does that make sense?

all the rest i dont need to change except possibly getting a different type of MC.which i dont want to do because in these years the brake light switch is on the MC.

Re: 1964 f100 question
so heres the direction im going on my 64.
PB701D 7" Brake Booster,
Dual Diaphragm, Universal,
Zinc Finish

631013 - Master Cylinders & Power Brake Boosters

631710 booster bracket universal

DORMAN Part # M32900

i decided on this setup so that i wont have to drill any holes or modify anything.
thoughts?
