Hello all:
I am new to the forum. I have a 77/78 Mustang II 8" rear end (WDY-AH) 4 lug 28 spline stock set up. I want to change to 5-lug axles. I am having difficulty locating used 5-lug axle shafts but one used-parts place has 5-lug '75 Maverick axles. I can't locate any information on interchangability of Ford axles. I note the rear axle assembly identification in Fordification, but do not find any info on what can be swapped. Can anyone tell me if the '75 Maverick axle shafts will fit the '78 Mustang II or provide any site or entity that has interchangability information?
Thanks much.

You will not find any info here for anything except for 1967 to 1972 Ford trucks.jugger wrote:Hello all:

Having said that, look for a Ford Granada to get the axle out of. PM me if you need any other info.
Cheers!

When in doubt, hit the gas. It may not be the right answer, but at least it ends the suspense!!

To Dirty Offio:
Thanks, I didn't know this site was only for '67-'72 trucks only. Is the Granada axle a straight swap? I have learned since posting my question that the Maverick axles are slightly shorter than the Mustang II.
