Center support bearing

Post by ajsmolik »

1971 f100 360 2wd (2-piece drive shaft)

I'd like to replace the U-joints one of these weekends, and thought I'd better replace the center support bearing also.

Any hints on how to do this? Does it just drop down and slide off?

Most auto parts stores have the press to r&r the carrier bearings. Good idea to at least check and if at all questionable replace. They can leave you stranded!!

I got mine pressed off and the new one pressed on at a driveline shop. Think it was about $25.
