Horn Component Help! Missing parts!

Post by ranger_68_f100 »

I have a 68 f100. The steering wheel didnt come with the horn ring or spoke setup to honk. What key components are missing, if it's easier, i'd like to do just the horn button. What else am i missing?!?

yeah on the steering wheel where nut is there is a brass brush. I know the horn works because when i press down and touch metal with another metal object it honks. all i need is the components after, whether its the button and accessories or the spoke ones. do you have pictures?

this brush goes in the second picture hole. the horn button or ring grounds the brush. http://www.fordification.com/images/for ... ontact.jpg

that sounds right. unless the wiring is bad or something else is bad you should be able to ground out the brush to the steerign shaft and make the horn honk. they make a horn ring or a horn button for your truck. horn rings are on ebay once in a while. horn buttons are on ebay almost all the time. i have a few horn buttons myself.
