Post by tino69 »

I have a 69 ranger f100 swb I bought it with a 460 and a c6 trans. I have a top loader 4spd I want to put in so does anyone know if the stcok clutch linkage will work with a 460 bellhousing or maybe go with hydraulic?
any advise would be helpful

Thanks

thats a loaded kind of question. if they made a stock bellhousing and a stock linkage of course it will work together. if you are rigging something in that wasn't ever suppose to be put togther then that is different. are you then sayign that you have the stock linkage from another truck transmission and want to know if it will work with a true 460 bellhousing?

You have a stock 460 bell? The 4speed is a 435 or T18 or am I way off?

I think the linkage should work out ok. I used a D7 bell from a 351M/400 on my 429 with a toploader. I think it was a 3 speed bellhousing so I'm not sure if they were different but there is some depth issues with the 351M/400 4 speed bell housings, I hear.
