76-85 truck steering wheel

Does anybody know if a 76-85 Ford truck steering wheel will fit on a 71?

I believe they will because I had a steering wheel off of an early 80's van on my 70 so I could get my horn to work

yes and no. the steering wheel will fit . but there will be no turnsignal cancelor and you will have to do something different with your horn. als o the newer steering wheel is wider at the base than the older steering wheel. the newer steering wheel is also smaller on the outer rim than the older one is. as well as you will have to use the horn pad from the newer wheel. in the one pis you can see where the horn contacts are on the bottom of the wheel in a circle around the bottom of the hub. they probably wont line up with the contact on our columns. here are some comaparison pics.

Being a tall fat boy I could use the extra room from the late model small wheel.
