Brake Pedal Height

Post by 390F100 »

Does anyone know the height the brake pedal is supposed to be at because I installed my new booster/master combo with bracket and it pulls the pedal way down for the rod to connect to it. It just doesnt seem right to me???

Sounds like you may have a late model booster. I made that mistake a while back and found out that 77-79 can have a different length rod and the trucks have different brake pedals. I put a 78 booster on my 76 and the pedal was too close to the floor. Had to change the stupid pedal to fix it. Hawkrod

Hey Hawkrod..

Could he swap a PB plunger rod from a bump with the newer MC ???
I had to swap the plunger rod on my manual MC for a power one when I did the PB upgrade on my '68 CS...

There is no plunger rod on a PB master cylinder, it is part of the booster and does not come apart unless you have a linkage style booster and then you can just make a new arm. Hawkrod
