Need help with my 1981

Post by fire3110 »

Hello,

I know it is not a 67-72 Ford but does anyone know the exact bolt pattern for the wheels of my 81 F100? I think it is 5 x 4.5???? I have a F100 which is different wheel bolt pattern than the F150, also what backspacing would I need for new wheels? Any hekp is appreciated!!

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure what the wheel pattern is, but it is different from all the other years. I have an 81 I'm parting out slowly. I have a complete set of turbine wheels + matching spare (5 total) with Cooper Lifeliner tires. Spare has a Firestone on it. I could take some pics and measurements if you need them. PM me.

I believe it is 5x4.5. The pattern is the same one that full size Fords, Mercs and some Lincolns used in the 60's , 70's and early 80's.They may have used it longer.A lot of full size Chrysler products also used the same pattern.Lots of choices. :)

81-83 there where 2 different front axles used for the f100's. The Standard w/5000lb GVW and the light duty w/4700lb GVW. The light duty used a 5 on 4-1/2" pattern and the standard used 5 on 5-1/2".
