67 F-350 rear tire size
I have a 67 F-350 with dual rear wheels what size tire should be on the on the rear of this truck? I think that the previous owner put the wrong size tire on it cause they rub each other at the bottom of the tire.

Mine has , well, i forgot. Check tomorrow. I think 6.5 16 LT bias ply, which is about the same as 235/85 R16 radial. Did you check the tire pressure? maybe another F350 owner will chime in here. What size do you have?

The one on my truck is 235/85 r16, so steve you are right. I would also check the tire pressure, mine take like 85 psi.

re: 67 F-350 rear tire size
The tires on it are now 245/75 R16. After talking to a tire guy he said that a 245/75 is about an inch to a inch and a half wider that a 235/85 tire which would explain why they are rubbing. Also how do you tell if a rim is a 16" rim or a 16.5" rim?

chris,
The rim should have it stamped on it somewhere, (maybe on the inside). You can measure where the tire beads onto the rim too.
I've got 16.1/235 series on front and rear, (yeah my load range E take about the same 80 PSI). But look at the tire's rating before you try to inflate that much.
Hope this helps.

re: 67 F-350 rear tire size
P235/85/R16 is the closest match to the 7.50X16's that most of our trucks came with.
I'm still looking for a good set of E load range drives for my flatbed.
Until then, i'm riding on the old Bias-ply 7.50X16.
16.5" rims are very different from 16" in the bead ring area.
Thats why it so dangerous to mix 16's onto 16.5 rims. They can "slip" off the bead.
Basketcase0302 is right, the rim should have a stamp on the inner facing side. It should say something like 8X16, or 7X15.
The first number is the width of the rim between the beads.
The second number is the bead seat dia.
Good luck.
