can a 4x2 68 f250 convert to a 4x4 easily

No. The amount of time and effort, not to mention mucho $$$, to convert a 2WD to 4WD isn't even close to worth it. If you want a 4WD, buy one. Or at least buy a parts truck chassis and swap your existing body onto it.

79-down isn't worth the effort to convert.
68 F100 soon to be on an 80's 4x4 frame and 300-4spd
69 F100 300-4spd
