rear end in 69 f 100?

I just bought a 69 f 100, and when I pulled the bed off I noticed the rear end. I dont know what it is and wanted to know if any one could help me out. I know its not a 9 in, I have pics of it just cant post them

If it drops out the front of the axle, it's either a 9" or a 9 3/8" axle. Highly doubt they would put an 8" in a truck, but that doesn't mean it wasn't swapped in.

Might want to throw in a pic, you'll get a faster response that way.

Here's the pics. It's a Dana, I'm guessing, but other than that I can't tell you anything else. I can spot a 9" easy enough though. :D

I'm guessing it's the semi-rare Dana 60 5-lug rearend. I've got one in my '67 that came from a well-optioned '68.

The housing should be marked like this:

Looks like a dana 44 to me.

That does look a lot like an 8.8". Looks like the edges of the diff cover are rolled a tiny bit, haven't seen too many 44 rears, but I'm sure they didn't have rolled edge covers like the non-plastic 8.8's used.
