air shocks
Ive got these old air shocks on this 1969 F250 I bought. They had a camper on it so I figured this is why they were running them. I'm going to get new shocks, but in the mean time does anyone know what psi I should run in them. I dont want to blow them out. I dont have a camper on it, just an empty bed. Thanks

re: air shocks
Air shocks are adjustable according to the amount of weight in the back, but typically they can be run up to 150 PSI. However, with no added weight on the back, you can let the air completely out of them...they'll still act as shock absorbers, they just won't have the extra lift.
And kudos to you for replacing those things with conventional shock absorbers. I know air shocks were very popular back in the '70s and '80s, but they're just a very bad idea altogether, since they take the load-carrying task from the springs (where they should be) and place them the shock mounts instead...and the shock mounts weren't designed to carry weight, and thus often break from the added stress.

I hate Air Shocks!
I think that all you'll get is headaches if you use 'em.
