Custom Chassis being built

Post by layedout72 »

Alright, don't get your hopes up, it's not mine. I wish it was. I am on another forum about metal shaping that is called metalmeet.com. This guy is amazingly talented, and quite possibly building one of the CLEANESTS chassis I have layed eyes on. I can't imagine how these guys do this stuff, because I sure couldn't see past the fact that even in bare metal it is amazingly smooth and clean. BTW it IS for a cheby, but at this point, I don't care hahaha.

Anyways, his name on that site is "bherman" incase you guys run over and sign up. Just be sure to give him some "props" for such a clean build.

For what it's worth, (which is a lot) he HAND BUILT that rear end you see. Well, the housing was hand built, and I believe he had some things either custom built, turned or something of that nature. Fact of the matter is, I don't believe one thing was "bought" and just slapped on.

ON TO THE PICS!

That is a nice looking frame. Too bad it is for a brand x, but still some nice work non the less.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

looks like an afternoons work to me...

That is realy nice looking, I don't know about the engineering of the loads. But how much load realy gets put on these things going on and off the trailer?

VERY nice craftsmanship!

its for a 37 chevy, i doubt anything but the body and drivers ever see the interior of it. He said it is going to be a driver though.

A handshaped rear end is a handshaped rear end. Nothing about that rear end is ford other than the gears that will be inside of it. Atleast I assume he will use ford gears.

I may be biased on my comments but that is some great work. I love the look of the emblem molded into the frame. Does it really matter what brand it is, when it is that old (1937) it doesn't really matter in my opinion. Anything that old would be great to have. I am sure I will get some flack over this but just my thoughts. That is some amazing work though.

Metalwork and welding like that are as much of an artform as anything with paint and canvas...

Very nice indeed!
