New to me tires and rims

Post by mljjones67 »

What do ya think about my new rims and tires? I paid $300. for all of them. Two tires are about 40% two have 75% tread. Not too bad of a deal. Now I have to spend some money on a lift. Darn It  :shh:

I put 2 of them on to see what they looked like. I like them. The pic isn't real good because the truck is in the shade. I will take some more later when the sun hits them.

They look like they will clear now that you have them on. Maybe not in a field bouncing around but on the street it looks like they might. Probably cant turn the wheel from stop to stop but give it a try. They sure look good on it.

I am going to put a lift on for sure. I am leaning towards a four or six inch lift. I found a place here in Utah that makes the leaf springs. so no blocks for my truck. Also I am thinking about an aluminum diamond flat bed for the truck. what do ya all think?

You could trim the fenders, and lift it 2-3" if you really wanted too.

I was thinking the same thing. I figured It would cost just as much to fix the bed as it would be to buy the flat bed. The bed is pretty messed up.

I found some nice flat beds with side skirts and a nice tool box behind the cab.

I prefer the under the bed tool boxes that go under the bed, behind the cab in front of the rear wheel. I had a flat bed years ago that had 2 fuel belly tanks under the bed. I liked them then but filling them up now would take winning the lottery  Mine was a 10 foot flat bed and I had a bed mounted tool box. Still had 8 foot of bed left, that was nice. The truck came as cab and chassis so I think the wheel base was longer like a Super Camper Special.
