FE P/S brackets pic needed please
Could someone please post a pic of their P/S pump mounted to the engine on an FE block please? Ive read the P/S conversion article and it has a real nice pic for I6 but not FE. I know i have the right parts problem is ive collected a box full of brackets over the years and now im finally doing the conversion i have no memory of how they came off.
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

Ive stared at that for about 30 minutes now, it is very helpful, thank you. Im pretty sure i can piece it together from that blow up but a real pic would help tie it all together. Those blow ups always drove me crazy when i was building transmissions too unless i had a real, assembled one in front of me. Something in my brain doesnt work well with diagrams but if i see it for real i can take it apart and reassemble it in my head

How about the pics in this thread?

If that doesn't work I can take pics this weekend when I get back up to work on mine. I installed the bracket last weekend but didn't take a pic. I'm still missing the spacer needed and am looking for a pulley...

Great, if you find you have an extra just let me know how much.jreb333 wrote:Yes that helps thankyou. Give me a week or 2. I might be able to help with a pulley when im finished. I have 3 p/s pumps and all have pulleys
Do you happen to have the spacer that goes between the bracket and one of the mounting points on the block? If so, what is the thickness? I found one today that is about 3/8" and it seems about right but it's hard to tell if maybe it should be 1/2". Even when you tighten the first two mounting bolts it seems like it could work for either and the wrong one will leave the angle to the pulley slightly off...

Re: FE P/S brackets pic needed please
I did not have the spacer. I removed the pump from the bracket, and bolted the bracket in place tightly to the 2 water pump mounting locations. Then i grabbed a couple of nuts i had lying around that were big enough for the location that needs a spacer (i think it bolts low on the head or high on the block. I chose a nut that JUST barely wouldnt fit while the others were tight. Loosened the others a bit, slid the nut in, tightened it all down, mounted the pump, and alignment was perfect. Was dark when i finished. I do have a pulley, ill head to the parts house tomorrow if they are open and see if i can use a puller. Its still on my spare pump.MAK wrote:Great, if you find you have an extra just let me know how much.jreb333 wrote:Yes that helps thankyou. Give me a week or 2. Thar spacer is the same thickness as the A/C compressor bracket, which on A/C equipped trucks went on in place of the spacer.
The bracket is part 2882 in this diagram:

The thickness there is .365", or just a whisker shy of 3/8". You could probably stack some washers there to get the thickness.
