1966 F100 column shift assembly issue

Post by nevillet904 »

Hi Guys. I have a 1966 Ford F100. It has the 240, 3 speed manual transmission with column shift. I am having an issue where when I shift inside the truck there is not enough force to shift the levers on the transmission. So is there a quick fix for it. Because before I start pulling the column apart I just want to get an understanding of what is going on inside the column when it is shifted from gear to gear. I mean I can't even see nothing lifting up or down when I pull up or push down to go from rev to 1st. And then over to 2nd and 3rd. There's something there that is tore up I'm sure. Any ideas.
