DONOR TRUCK REAR END I.D. HELP

Post by David1947 »

Well here I am trying this forum. Like I said in the regular bump side forum at Ford Truck Enthusiast I'm in need of help. I have a 69 f-250 2 wheel drive that is my project. I found a 73 f-250 donor truck on cragslist. I bought the truck got it home. We tinkered with it and got it running. To our amazement it runs and drives pretty darn good. OK now lets get to my question. The reason I bought the truck was for the 60 Dana rear Diff., 3:73 Gears with a Power Locking true Possi locking Diff, Carrier. After driving it we confirmed it posi. So here's the question has anyone here or can you lead me to a place where I can find someone who has changed the location of the spring and shock mounts in order for the 73 (wider frame) rear end to move over to my (narrower 69 )without get into the internal parts to which I'm clueless. It seems the fabrication and relocation is the way to go. I checked the tag on the rear end today and here are the numbers as I could make them out. On the top was 3 54 D3TA-YA below that is 6033 81-3
The description of the rear end 60 Dana rear diff. ect is from the sellers craigslist add. PLZ Help THX David

Sounds like all you need to do is relocate your spring perches and shock mounts inboards. But will your wheels and tires still clear? If you measure the total width of your two rear axles with wheels and tires are they the same width? I put a later model 9" under my 69 but I used wheels with more offset to make up for the wider rear. I just cut the perches and shock mounts off and rewelded them in farther, I changed springs also so my measurements wont work for you but its about 2" in.
