When looking through the technical article on identifying rear ends of our pickups I noticed the 3.25 option wasn't listed for my year of pickup. I guess it's possible someone switched them out at sometime(but I think this has been on here since day 1) or am I maybe reading something wrong on my tag?

Re: Identifying Rear End
The 3.25:1 rear end ratio was very much available in a '71 F-100.
Your WDM-H code translates to: 9-inch rear end, 3.25:1 ratio, open (single track) differential with 28-spline axles. The WDM-H code was used on F-100s from 1963-1972.
The "9" on the tag denotes a 9-inch rear end. The "1EA" would be the date the rear end was assembled; "1" = the year, 1971. "E" = the 5th month --May. "A" = the 1st week. So, it was assembled the 1st week of May, 1971.
The "324" is a Ford internal code that meant something to the line workers that were putting the parts together. I don't know the specifics of the code number since I've never found any information to what the three-digit codes mean.
