I'm working on my 72 F250. I've read in several places that the bolts on the rear axle that hold the axle shaft to the hub should be torqued to 115 lbs. This has to be an error. I can get them to 80, but and higher and the bolts start stretching.
Does anyone know the proper torque on these bolts?

Re: Floating hub to axle bolt torque
That is probably for the bigger truck with 5/8" nuts. My 67 shop manual has 35-40 ft-lbs for 7/16-20 nuts and 50-60 ft-lbs for 1/2-20 nuts.

Yep. That was the problem. They're 7/16-14 bolts. Any idea where I can get new ones? I've stretched a lease a few too much to be safe. The ones I've found at my local hardware store are threaded all the way to the head, but the ones used have a non threaded shoulder that I'd think is necessary so that the axle shaft doesn't shift.
