Threads shot steering column

Post by 69Ford »

Just took the steering wheel off my 69F100. Was converted to power steering. The threads are very poor shot on the column shaft. Wondering if anybody
has one. Automatic Transmision Ford Saginaw power steering box. Out of time I will take pictures. Thanks

Now I'm further into my steering column. I need help. How do I separate the colum from the rag joint and how do I remove the transmission linkage. I removed the 3/4 round clip. Also feels like the lower bearing in the column is shot. Any info would be helpful Thanks my first time doing a project like this

To remove the column flange from the rag joint, just remove the two nuts on top. On the linkage, once you've removed the "C" clip, the rod just pushes out. Here's a tutorial on rebuilding a steering column. Hope it helps. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... =5&t=72274
