Rancho shocks

Post by david_taylor09 »

Hey all,
Im considering putting some Rancho RS9000XL shocks on my 4x4 72 F100. Its lifted roughly 3" in the rear and 2" or 3" in the front right now. Has anyone used these shocks before? I dont want to spend $400+ just to find out they're only ok. Im doing more towing and off roading nowadays. I need shocks that can handle a load, perform off road and still have a decent ride on the highway. Any ideas? :help: I also want an adjustable shock, but Im not sure about durability. Any input is appreciated!

I used Ranchos on an '05 Chevy Duramax. They were okay, but nothing special. Ended up selling the truck because it beat my wife to death on long runs, even with Ranchos, lift kit in front, bigger/wider/softer tires. I had a friend with the same truck with Bilsteins, and he raved about them. I'm really not sure what I would buy today, if I had to do it over again. Sorry I couldn't do better than that for you.

Just my two cents.
