Pretty much gotta be the somewhere between the clutch pedal linkage rod and the z-bar. Either the linkage rod came out of one of the pivot points, the z-bar bearings gave out and it came out of it's brackets, the push rod came out of the clutch fork or the tension spring broke or came loose. http://www.fordification.com/tech/image ... dals02.jpg

Ugh! Looks like z-bar bearing failure. In either end of that pipe with the levers welded on it are pivot bearings. They're swivel bearings with a ball shaped nylon cap. The nylon part just sticks in the ends of the pipe and the mounts on the engine and frame capture and contain it into a single assembly. If the bearing fails, the nylon disintegrates or the nuts back off or the bracket breaks, it just kinda falls apart. There's a bracket bolted to the top rail of your frame on one end and a bracket bolted to the block on the other (might be cast into the block if its a.small block). The design is to allow for the flex of the engine during normal operation. Take it.loose from the frame and the block and get it out to where you can see what actually failed, then you can figure out what you need to fix it. Probably this http://www.fordification.com/tech/67-72ID_01.htm That's for a mustang but I think they're the same. Maybe this too http://cgfordparts.com/ufolder/fordpart ... UZ-7A535-A Sorry for the scattered reply but I'm on my phone n its hard to copy n paste.

well got it back together enough to get it home , but i noticed the nut on the driver side motor mount has come off. wonder if that could have caused my " jumping " problem and caused the linkage to fall apart along with it being worn out and rigged

at least its home and i didn't have to have it towed

Gotta love these trucks! You can just about always limp home with a little creative thinking. The nut coming loose would definitely do that. Put it back together tight and have someone work the clutch while you watch it. If it looks good run with it.
