Well I finally found some time to repair my clutch/brake pedal assembly. I wish I would have taken pics as I was doing it, but I was more interested in getting the truck back together before the sun went down. I had purchased a used pedal assembly from a '66 F100 and wasn't able to do a direct swap obviously. What I was able to do was cut out a 2"x2" section of the damaged assembly centered on the damaged holes, and replace them with the donor bushings cut from the good assembly in their respective 2"x2" squares. Here's a pic of the old sections and damaged bushings...
Reassembly was as simple as tack welding each side in place and checking for proper pedal movement. Once everything was looking good, I mig welded them up, painted everything black, reassembled everything, and put the assembly back in the truck. I'm simply amazed how bad it used to be compared to how everything is working now. My clutch and brakes are working exactly as they should, finally. I hope this simple fix can help someone out there.

Its amazing what you can do with a welder and a lil time. Good job. I had the same problem when i pulled my assembly last fall, except for the bushings were long gone, and the hole was worn down close to 1/4 of inch on the clutch side. I decided to copy mustang steve and got some ball bearings that fit the od of the shaft and mounted them on there instead, but your method worked too.

Re: Clutch + Brake Assembly repair (poor man's version)
I was actually looking for the write up on here where someone did the ball bearing installation. I couldn't find it and went ahead with this method. If I can get my hands on another pedal assembly I'll probably go ahead and do the bearings on it. This should hold me over for now, and it is sure nice to not have all that rattling in the truck going down the road.
