lift ideas

Post by towtruckerfour »

I just put 35x12.50s tire on my 4x4. The front tires have enough clearance but if I turn into a driveway at enough of an angle I can bump the tires. The rearend clears just fine obviously. I am trying to find an inexpensive way to lift the front end about 2 inches which will level the truck and give the fronts more clearance. I've heard blocks or shackles are not the way to go. Any thoughts? Here is what the truck looks like.

Are new lift springs really too much?

Sorry, but seen too many otherwise decent trucks DESTROYED by hack hillbilly front suspension idiocy.

Lift springs are cheap. You buy them, slap them in and your done. It's safe and doesn't ruin anything.

I agree with Dustin, there is only one way to really do it right. When I got my truck it had a hack job attempt to level the front with long shackles in the rear of the springs and it was awful. I installed the skyjacker 2" kit and it sits nice and level. My 35s have no clearance issues at all.

Here is a place that sells the kit, comes with springs, u-bolts, and new bushings. http://www.ntwonline.com/Skyjacker-Susp ... hocks.html I think that is a bit more then I paid but you can use the part number to shop around a bit.
