Driveshaft Question
Are both 2 piece driveshafts on a manual 3psd column and automatic C6 completely different in length? Will one of the 2 piece driveshafts interchange with either transmission?

Re: Driveshaft Question
Dave,
I would have to guess that they are different in length.
Our automatics are usually longer than a standard tranny bolted behind a clutch.

Re: Driveshaft Question
What about using a driveshaft up to a 79 truck?

Re: Driveshaft Question
If i remember correctly the steady bearing mount is the same distance from the trans as in bumpside trucks so I'm pretty sure that 73-79 ones work ,i also think that's what i'm running in my truck right now ( with the front half shortened to work with my trans)but its been while .....

Re: Driveshaft Question
Is the splines the same on the C4 and C6 automatic when fitting a driveshaft slip yoke on it?

Re: Driveshaft Question
I don't think a C4 ever came with a bolt on yoke.

Re: Driveshaft Question
there was a truck c4 with a bolt-on yoke, but they're pretty rare compared to the average slip yoke c4'shazelnut wrote:I don't think a C4 ever came with a bolt on yoke.
as far as i remember you can use the slip yokes from a c4 in a c6 and vice-versa ,however the spline count on the slip yoke changed a few times over the years so your best bet is to get the slip yoke out of your donor vehicle and use it with your driveshaft

Re: Driveshaft Question
I was told the output shafts are different in size in diameter.

Re: Driveshaft Question
could,be i'm pretty sure i've used a slip yoke from one with the other before
...i could be wrong tho' its been quite awhile and i was more than likely drunk or stoned at the time
...... but like i said: if you can,get the slip yoke off whatever your trans comes out of and use it with your driveshaft, then you'll eliminate potential problems...

Re: Driveshaft Question
If you look at the links that I posted, the "B" measurement is diameter size.davbell22602 wrote:I was told the output shafts are different in size in diameter.
