They say transmission but I'm sure you could use it for regular oil.

Re: frame mount tranny cooler
That LOOKS cool. But you would need more than one installed in parallel. The one on ebay has only 1/4 inch fittings and that is not near enough flow to use in line with a remote oil filter hookup. All transmission coolers have small lines to flow only what goes through the stock coolers in the bottom of a radiator.

They have several types of engine oil coolers. Their power steering oil coolers look good too and could be adapted to engine oil cooling.
Here is a page with Ford part numbers and diagrams too…

Just do a Yahoo search for “Oil Cooler” and look around. I bet you can find one that looks good to YOU. If it is made to fit a VW or whatever, who cares, as long as it looks cool to you.

And in defense of the people who mentioned oil coolers, the first line of your post is :

Re: frame mount tranny cooler
what i meant is that ihave seen people put the coolers up on hte inner fender. but that really will not get air flowing through them. it has to have air flow like a radiator. atleast the old style types do. im not talking about the type that goes inside of the bottom radiator tank. im talking abou tthe type that has the tube that winds around and is connected with aluminum fins.
