That's a good price for a rebuilt, but for $25.00 max you can do it yourself. If your talking a ford 2100-2v. That's for the kit and 2-3 cans of carb cleaner. I was timid as well but there not much than an oversized lawnmower carb. Kits come with fairly detailed instructions.
Only things i would add to the instructions, use compressed air after you disassemble and clean good, blow out all passages. Instructions don't tell you to remove jets below float, but i recommend it and clean those good as well.
Someone posted a good link the other day on a carb rebuild. Search it and follow that as well.
This is all the rebuilders do other than soaking it and getting it good and clean for you. If you want to spend the extra bucks on a carb soak bucket you will still come out ahead. :2cents: Fyi if you have auto zone or advance auto in your area you can pick up a rebuilt carb for 119.00-139.00 and save the shipping charge if you just want to go that route.
