borg warner t-10?

Post by flatblack »

hey all, i was helping a friend lastnight instal a borg warner t-10, nice close ratio 4 speed, he bought an aftermarket bellhousing for it that had a whole bunch of bolt patterns to it, i was wondering if there was some way to hook one up to an FE?

Ford T10's aren't that common or great and the toploader is viewed as far superior by most. Other makes like AMC used lots of super T10's with good results. The supers hold up pretty well.

Probably why Ford went to their own, the T10 wasn't stout enough for the big 427 car for sure. I have also seen mild 327s dump the guts out of aluminum T10, seen several with the bottom blowed right out on the ground from stock 250-300 horse 327s. But that was drag racing and full on powershifts at 5500 or so, didn't happen just driving around.
