tic tic tic 300

Post by big dog »

I have a 300 I6 that has ticking rocker arms that drives me nuts. I have set them many times but the only way to make them quiet is to crank them down to tight witch makes it run bad.I have tried every oil known to man but still tics and I will replace the rocker arms if this is what it takes.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Marvel mistery oil worked for my ticky Subaru. Maybe a lifter is collapsed?

Yep, collapsed lifter or lifters. Replace them. It is the reason Ford put those funny looking access panels on the side of the motor for you.
