How much oil?

Post by FormerMarine1981 »

I was just looking up info and came across this opinion.... The primary function of the factory windage tray, shown here installed on our engine, is to keep the extra quart of oil in the pan away from the spinning crank. "Always run at least 6 quarts of oil, even in a 5-quart pan. Mark your dipstick tube accordingly." You can find more info at 428cobrajet.com. View Related Article

I put in quotes what I was wondering about. I read this at this link, http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl= ... 6%26um%3D1

Anyone agree or disagree with this? If so why?

I don't see why not as long as that windage tray is there.

I agree.

I do not think that I've ever actually seen a copy, but it is said that there is a factory technical service bulletin which says this as well.
