header question
I've put headers on all my cars in the past and was thinking about putting em on my truck now that I've finally got one I might keep, but looking at ones on ebay most of the ones listed are for f-100's and f-250's but not 350's, whats the deal?

Re: header question
They should fit, can't say for sure tho. Maybe call a header tech department.

Re: header question
They fit but do you really want eBay headers or something that produces torque and hp for better mileage.
The rule on our trucks is 4*2 requires 4*2 and 4*4 requires 4*4. Hedman's work real good and so do Hooker's avoid Flowtech and Black Jack.

Re: header question
Mileage hmm my F250 390 gets the same as a new F250 5.4 but only in town. I could get a lot worse.

Re: header question
I didnt do too much about it but my last truck(70 250 390 c-6 all options) got the worst mileage ever, I even put an aluminum intake and electronic ignition on it but still sucked.

Re: header question
I noticed you've got a crew; my F250 crew gets about 9, maybe 10 on a good day with a stock 360. It's also a 4x4 though...prime mover wrote:I didnt do too much about it but my last truck(70 250 390 c-6 all options) got the worst mileage ever, I even put an aluminum intake and electronic ignition on it but still sucked.
BTW since you've got a crew you should post some pics here: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... &sk=t&sd=a

Re: header question
I bought Hedman and I'm happy with the way they fit.
Mine gets 9 mpg empty and 8.5 towing 6500 lbs.

Re: header question
Its funny you should post that cause my truck looks almost like yours, its white with some dents but mine is a longbed, I'm going to paint it the original dark blue someday. I'll try to get some pics of it up but I'm just storing right now cause it needs a motor. anybody got a line on a good 390 in so-cal?fomocoguy wrote:BTW since you've got a crew you should post some pics here: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... &sk=t&sd=a

Re: header question
I built two racing 390s out of 352s one from the junkyard in Victorville and the other from the yard in Ridgecrest. I know I did not use up all the engines.

Re: header question
Who makes them Summit doesn't! They either buy branded from one company or are owned by one company.

Re: header question
Those look like Black Jacks as best as I can tell. But might be Flowtechs.
Yearwood Performance here has a set for 100 for a FE truck 4*2 Flowtechs
like these http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku
5/16 Flange is not bad .049 tube though is less than a 1/16 (.0625) so they are thin and the thinner the noisier the header.
Hedman are thinner flanges but same tubing.

Re: header question
Yeah but Hedman has that ball collector connector that works real well especially with off road flexing.
