C-4 shift pattern?

Post by blacktruck »

well after putting a rebuilt motor in the 71 the trans started acting funny. It takes its time to engage in drive
and it flares sometimes. It'll go into drive if you blip the throttle a bit but nothing like it used to.
I've resigned myself to pulling the trans and giving it the go through-my question is what valve body style
is in there?OK laugh all you want I'm a VW guy, automatics still confuse me a bit.
The shifter is a B&M floor mount ,PRND21.When it was working right it'd do the automatic style of shifting
if left in drive but you could start in first and bump it forward for shifts. It shifts harder than most autos
so I'm assuming someone(Hellen Keller and a drunken monkey by the look of the work)did some thing to
the trans. From what I've read so far Broader performance would be a good place to get a kit?

Broader has a good rep.

www.fordmuscle.com has a great C4 forum.

Good luck.
65 f-100 SWB, 240 I6, T-18, now swapped to C4 with difficulty. Yeah, I know. Its a 67-72 site. But my frame and entire drive train are just like yours!!!!
