The fastest way of determining if you've got a limited slip is just to jack up the rearend to get both tires off the ground. Then with the transmission in neutral, spin one tire by hand and note the direction the opposite tire spins. If it spins the same direction, you've got a limited slip. If it spins the opposite direction, it's an open rearend.

If you are pulling the rear cover to change the oil compare your carriers to the ones below.

From the front

1 - Powerlock (front) - unique and strong limited slip, you'll know it if you have one, see the difference in the case
2 - Trac-lock (center) - limited slip, not as strong, but they do just fine - see the small side ger in the center, just beneath it in the pic are a stack of small clutches)
3 - Open diff (farthests from camera) - not a posi, no clutches next to the side gears

140w is better if you haul weight around. These clutched lockers get hot and will boil the lub.

90w is cool for the front dif. If it is still stock it is open.

The markers are added on by me. I like the look ao them at night. If you do them spend the cash on good ones.
