Crome Rear Cab Beltline Trim. Exc. Doors

Post by FoMoCo »

Hey all. I was checking out Keith's pics of the in-cab storage compartment and noticed that truck had the chrome cab trim wich did not extend to the doors. I check out my DC trim book and sure enough it goes around the back of the cab and stops at the doors. Did this only come on trucks w/o in cab tank? How would it attach? 67-69 only? This would make a great subtle difference on my 67 stepside.
Thanks,
Nick

I'm not sure what picture you're looking at, but that truck (a '70, BTW) DID have the chrome trim which went completely around the cab to the door:

The 72 I just parted out had the trim with the incab tank. The end pieces have nuts on the backside and I am sure you would have to take out the filler tube to gain access.

Keith, that's the correct picture. I was talking about the chrome that is between the black and purple paint. Only goes around the rear of the cab.

Oh, OK. I misunderstood what you were asking.

That chrome trim was used on all trucks with a tu-tone paint job or the textured cab roof, to cover the area where the two colors mate up.

As willowbilly mentioned there are two corner pieces, and then the long straight piece (actually two pieces) across the back of the cab, which snaps onto trim clips, much like the side trim clips.

I am looking for those trim peices if anyone has any extra that are in nice shape. I realy only need the two that are inbetween, but will take all if needed.

Well, it's your lucky day. ;) I had a complete set, but a forum member just needed the driver's side corner piece, so I let him have it. Now I have the passenger-side corner and both back pieces. PM me if you're interested.

Hmm. Thought mine was the only one missing this left cab chrome corner! BTW with it gone and holes left open my left rear cab corner rusted from the inside out !
