the previos owner had a part that he thought went to my truck so he gave it to me. it looks to be a a/c part. does it even go to my truck? where does it go?
Not sure what it is, but I am pretty sure I know what it ain't...
That's definately doesn't look like a stock bump part...
I pulled nearly every nut and bolt from a '71 F-250 (down to a rolling frame and bed away) and there wasn't anything that even looked close to that on it.
There is a possibility that it could be part of an A/C unit. There were so many differant ones used and the '71 that I dismantled didn't have A/C.

wow. im so stupid . i was thinking that a part of the ac or something was called the "flasher". then it would make since. my dad told me that he was woking at a meineke or something and a lady came in asking why her headlights werent working. and someonce said she was out of headlight fluid and she asked how much it costs for some more.funny stuff.
Sorry, I have no right to make you feel bad since I have no clue what that thing is.
The fins look like some kind of heat exchanger.

Yes, that's the evaporator assembly for an add-on aftermarket A/C setup. You might get lucky finding someone who'd need it, but don't hold your breath.

thanks for the info. is it a aftermarket part for a bumpside add on? should i put it in the parts for sale section? or will no one most likely want one.
it is what keith said it is but i have never seen one like that but that doesn't mean it didn't come from one of our trucks. but its not part of your old system.
hmmm. is it worth anything? ill probably give it away for free if anyone wants it or ill throw it away. i have no use for it. should i put it in the parts for sale section? or is it not really bump related?
thanks for the help guys
