Correct clutch kit for 390/np435?

Post by Fordfool »

Hey guys, below is a link to a new clutch kit on ebay. I have the 390 and the np435 tranny. It sure looks like the correct kit I need, but wanted to make sure there weren't variations.

Thanks for your input!

You have to know the size of the clutch before you buy a kit. It may
be a different size. It could be like 11" 11.5" 12" ect. You can probably
get one close to that price at autozone or local place. Then if theres a
problem you can take it back.

I bought a clutch pack from NAPA last year for $143. I ordered the standard for a 390 and it fit. I think it's an 11 inch.

Just bought one yesterday. The book calls for a 11.5" for my 390 but my flywheel took a 11" which is fine with me because the 11.5" is about 80 bucks more. AC Delco 160.00 plus tax

I have since inspected my clutch disc and pressure plate and they are just fine. My throwout bearing on the other hand will need to be replaced. My pressure plate measures 11 3/4" so I figured it would have to be a 11 1/2" model. Mine actually looks new. Cool something I don't have to buy!
