Has anybody lifted a 2 wheel drive 67-72 by building their own lift kit.
I don't want a body lift, but I do want 3 to 4 inches of lift by doing the suspension only. It doesn't look like it's hard to build a kit but I was wondering what is needed for the steering. This is actually for my dads 76 crew cab F250. Need pics if posible. Thank's

re: lifted 2 wheel drive
I built my own kit. For the steering I did nothing, it has very minimal bump steer. My tie rod and drag link are not perfectly parallel (if they are way off it will cause bump steer) but I still dont have a problem. It looks like if I went to full droop, my draglink and tie rod end would rub against the inner side top of my radius arms, but my truck has a lot of travel, with extended radius arms and I dont have to worry about going full droop unless I put it on a lift.
I had bad bump steer right after I put on my coils, and i-beam drop brackets. I then dropped and extended the radius arms, and completely rebuilt the front end with new parts, which took care of it.

I used 1/4" for my radius arm brackets, but 3/16" for my i-beam drop brackets.marz68 wrote:Thank's boots. Did you use 1/4 plate or something thicker, can't wait to get started on this truck.
