cab set back on

Post by 48prerunner »

Set the cab back on, I have about 4" between the head and the firewall. Transmission clears the low hump tunnel, but I think I'll put the high hump cover in so will be easier to access shifter.

Had to set a fender on to see how it looked.

Looks good, it's nice to see someone found something decent at Spring Carlisle this year.

Next time, try cutting the inner pipe with a sawzall, blade flat to the pipe and go slow as it'll pop when finally cut through. Then just bend one side if the cut pipe in with a screwdriver and pull it out with some pliers.

Funny thing is your fastback is in about the same shape as my '69... I realized that I was not up to the task of doing it's bodywork and ended up storing it on a trailer under some roofing rubber at my friends farm. (for the last 10 years)...

Yeah a started on fastback way way back then the 37 street rod stole the motor and 9'' rear it rescheduled to be finished after the f-100 and my sisters 65 gt. I have NOS fenders for front and all the 67 shelby fiberglass for it. I bought the fenders back in the 80s up in the far north corner of carlise and carried them all the way out past the firehouse that is back when they used to let you camp on the street. Stupid raccoon torn my insulation down have to fix it before next winter. I was too lazy to go get the sawall was not at the garage. First one popped right out after I ground down the welds.

Swap meet finds at Ford Nationals

Post by 48prerunner »

Picked up a used bumper has some patina on it to match truck the original truck one is on the left, a brand new one would stand out too much. plus I measured and it fit in the mustang with back seat down and front seat all the way forward. wrapped it in my car cover

Image

Just looks cooler engine cover and coil covers> I didn't need them to make it run but price was right and I could see what I was getting.

Fabbed up the clutch pedal. I took and ground off the f-100 shaft, then took the clutch pedal and filed the rectangular hole to a square hole to fit the shaft from a 98 mustang cobra pedal set. A couple 5/8" bearings some tube and a aftermarket adjustable clucth cable and firewall adjuster. Image

I see you worked your clutch pedal similar to mine. ;)

yup thanks little bit of yours copied your ebay bearings then copied the set up of the older mustang rebuild kits from I think mustang steve. I almost used the mustang pedals. Think If I did it again I'd figure out a way to run the cable on the left so it follows the inner fender, I'm hoping once I get the master cyl in it wont stand out so much. I have I think a steeda adjustable cable too came with my transmission. I still need to buy one of those $4 clips to hold it down by the trans. I still want to go six speed t56 or magnum but have to buy ac, alt and power steering so t45 for now.
