yah well its gunna have to wait cuz i have all of 1.5 feet on either side of my truck, i cleared the holes real nice and it seems like i cant find something for the screw driver to adjust. i thought it was some type of gear style thing that the flat head would catch, but i dont see it. i will look a little later. i shined my flash light in it and i just didnt see anything.

this may be a dumb question but is up or down to tighten the pads? and is that what u meant to tighten the cables, tightening the piece through the little access hole? i will get it up onstands and turn it as i go, until it gets where it rubs a little then back it off, or should i have someone push the ebrake everyone now and again until it works?

turn the gear in the hole while spinning the wheel with th e brake off. the gear should be in there. if you cant find it with the screwdriver then pull the drum and inspect the brakes.

yes and doing that will help the ebrake. if it doesn't then there could be something else wrong inside the drum. try tightening the brakes first. then if it still don't work then you'll have to pull the drums.

i don't know which way to turn it. i always end up having to take the drum off. just so i can see which way its suppose to turn. i haven't done my brakes since 98 or 99 so i can't remember.

well, i will do that once i get a jack that will actually get the tire off the ground. are the drums sandwhiched in between the wheel and axle flange? or is there screws somewhere?

yeah f100 are like that f250 you have to pull the axle and some other stuff to get it off. beware the drums may be hard to get off if they haven't been off in awhile. you'll need two screwdrivers one on either side of the drum to work the drum off. and maybe even som pb blaster around the center of the hub to loosen the rust.

my drum on the passanger side actually came off VERY easy. my question now is, how thick are the shoes on a good setup? mine seem to be 1/8 at the thickest, and it seems like uneven wear at part prolly to about 1/16 of an inch. is this an indication of warpage?

id say 1/8 of an inch on most areas, and seems like undeven wear in spots down to the rivits it looks like. i dont drive the truck so its not a major ordeal as of now.
