Re: DJM beam tie rod issue
I have a totally diffrent set of instructions. The instructions I received stated twice in bold print not to put anything in between the spindle and the extender. Except blue loc tite. And it also said tighten to 140ft lbs. Make me wonder. Mine went together great with no issues. I did have a hard time getting the cotter pins in. But I finally got them had to spin the ball joint stud some. Sorry for any inconvenience or mis info.

How long ago did you get yours? I know they made a few changes since they came out.pedro69ford wrote:I have a totally diffrent set of instructions. Before you spend all of the time to pull the motor and put a front sump pan on the motor, along with a new pick up tube, you might want to post some photos of the motor mount and height above the cross member to make sure that you have enough clearance. PO's do some silly stuff and they may have lowered the engine enough to not leave you any clearance for the front sump. The folds here can tell you if it is stock motor mounts and perches or not and then you can tackle the project with some education.

I didn't even think of that. Looking at it seemed like there would be enough clearance but I didn't think to measure. I'll crawl under again tonight and get some more pics and measure. I already got the new pan and accessories from summit (Love those guys btw!).

I got a new pan from Summit and I am going o have to send it back. The bottom of the pan at the drain plug is beautifully done, but it doesn't leave enough clearance to pull the plug out.

Should look like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-o ... /make/ford
