I would have gone that route, but there isn't anyone with a big enough tank to do a cab near Omaha. I will probably have the doors dipped, though.

Pat, keep it moving, buddy - it's getting there!

I was wondering if you could help me out with something. I forgot to cut the new hole in the DS floorpan for the E-brake cable and I need a picture and maybe a measurement (from the hole's edge to the kickpanel)? :?

Tyler, here is what I came up with. If these are too small, pm me your email, and I'll send them to you. Hope they help!

Well, time for an update, not much been happening. I'm dropping off the ZF-5 tranny and transfercase today, to have them cleaned up and checked out. Since it's going to be in the 60's here this afternoon, I'm going to try and get some work done on the cab. Got to use this weather while it's here!

Well, good news/bad news on the tranny/ transfer case. The tranny is fine, and doesn't need tear down, that'll save me a good chunk of money. But, the transfer case is a mess. So, what money I saved on the tranny will go into the t/c. I could get another one from a junk yard. but for what they want for them, it would be the same to rebuild this one, and who knows what kind of shape the J/Y one would be in.

Hate to hear that about the Tcase pat. That is kinda common though on the late model 1356 borg warners also 1345. They use a pressure lube pump driven by the output shaft that is held still by the main case and a ear hanging off it. See this thing...
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-316 ... -case.html

You can see the tang. What happens it wears through the case then spins around trashing the pump. Then it gets wound up in the linkages chains all tat good stuff. Yeah a mess. I have built a couple by welding up the wear spot then putting in the parts and a rebuild kit. They are a fairly simple case. Just be glad your ZF is good they are really pricey to build.... Bout to build one for my brothers 89 tracker and it is gonna cost!!!! Cool glad to see some progress i ain't forgot about ya and plan to update my project thread myself...... Happy new year to ya pat

Well, the cab may have to go into storage for a while. We may be bidding on a new house (with land enough for me to put up a building), and will have to sell our house, and that means I have to de-clutter the garage. Unless I can work on it at my mother-in-laws place, otherwise it's going into storage.
