They say even a blind squirrel finds an acorn now and again......

Since I got home early, and it was a beautiful Spring Day, I finally got a chance to tinker with the Truck for just a few minutes.

Guess what I found???

I was looking for my tag on the rear end, and got a very pleasant surprise.....when I looked, I saw a nice big Letter "N" on the rear end!!!

I'm so psyched! I bought this truck for pulling, and now have the good rear end for that purpose.

One other question: I don't know how to decipher the numbers I found on the tag.

They are: 1AA, and 301A. Can anyone direct me to where I can find this out?

Thanks, guys.

Bob
The numbers you've listed in this post aren't very relavant to the rear, in regards to getting replacement parts for it. The
WDM-W and 08 (3.50 ratio) you posted is.

The "1AA" is the build date of the rear end. "1" is the year, the first "A" is the month and the second "A" is the week of
production built. Translated; the rear end was assembled the 1st week of January, 1971.

The 301A was an internal Ford assembly line code that has some reference to the ratio/internals that was to be installed
in the rear end assembly. It had meaning to whatever assembly line workers were putting this stuff together at the time
but, I've never been able to find any sort of direct information that deciphered or cross-referenced the actual meaning of
these three digit/alpha codes.
