I ordered new headgaskets and ring compressor last night. I went with the felpro 1011-2, same ones that were in it. I am hoping to get the motor setting in the frame this weekend so I can see if the headers are going to fit. They are 2" primaries full length with a 3 1/2" collector. I don't know if they will fit or not.

I'm not sure what brand they are. They may have been custom made, I got them with the motor. If I get a chance tonight I can snap a pick of em. I still need to figure out what header gaskets I am going to need. The heads are old tfs steel high ports and they have an extra plate, almost looks like an adapter plate for the headers. The mounting bolts are diagonal for each tube.

Only hooker and custom Hedmans or other non name brand headers come in 2 inch for the trucks due to clearance hassles. I used to take a 1/2 by 6 inch notch out of the top of the frame rail on the passenger side to stop header banging frame noise.

These headers were originally for a 87 - 93 mustang. I am hoping they will work without mods but we may have to fiddle with them a little bit. I just need to figure out what gaskets I need for them

I just went out and took measurements on some other things and figured I would measure the headers to be sure. They are 2" id at the header flange with a 3 1/2" collector.

Might be a little late, but I wouldn't run the 1011's, had them blow out very quickly on my 10-1 306 with 6psi of boost. Ended up with the 8548PT-2's They are multi layer steels and I got them at the local advance today for $14.50 each. I also don't put anything on them. it just helps them slide out under boost. I was really impressed with this set of gaskets, got two years out of them and they were still fine when I tore them down last week. My motor is studded with AFR 185's.

For the exhaust I just put a small bead of Permatex Ultra RTV and I have header studs on this motor. They don't leak and work very well too.

I appreciate all the tips. I remeasured the headers and they are 1 7/8" id and I found the gaskets on trickflow's/summit's website. I was having a dilemma on what we were going to do because the cam I had was way too wild and my budget doesn't allow for a new converter and a new cam so we are going to try to use the 3,000 stall converter I already have and we tamed the cam down alot. We were also worried about ring flutter with having the 2" primaries so I remeasured them and I don't know what I was thinking when I got 2" so now that we know they are 1 7/8" we feel a little better about it. I can't believe how big these heads are. The intake valve is 2.06 - 2.08. I am hoping the motor should still be somewhat close to 600hp at the flywheel.
