Now that you guys have me totally confused :? , I think I'll go out and replace the vaccum advance instead. Maybe a wheel cylinder. :D

I obviously need to bone up on carbs and intakes before dropping $600 on something I know so little about. Thanks for the advice though. It gives me something to work with.

Now, if I could only fix the lifter without removing the intake I'd have an excuse to keep it as is. :wink:
