I've had column shifters before but have not had the pleasure of tearing into one. Have a problem with linkages jamming while shifting gears. Have to stop truck, open hood, adjust by hand, etc....
Maybe it's just an adjustment or maybe it's not worth fixing.
Does anybody have a schematic for this column linkage?
Much obliged.

to the site.
I don't know and I am not sure if there is any differences between years and applications, but you might want to give us some specs on your ride. This might make it quicker and easier to answer.
Thats for joining. Feel free to post a couple pics of your Ford.

Hello again! Great site. The truck has 240 c.i. inline 6 with Three Speed light duty manual tranny (Code C).
If anybody has any type of schematic, it is very appreciated. I don't have a garage and hate tearing something apart without a drawing. Especially here in AZ in the summer.
The problem is definitely in the column shift. Not sure if is on the cab side or the engine side, although I'm leaning towards the cab side.
It has to be "babied" and that results in smooth shifts through the gears. Otherwise, it jams up and leaves one in gear with the column shifter out of position.

It probably is an adjustment. My experience with column shifters has been when they do what you describe it means that when you are in neutral your R-1 and 2-3 forks aren't lined up correctly. So when you shift, usually from first to second, one fork isn't in the proper position when the next fork starts to move thus creating the "binding" that requires under the hood relief.

Thanks Tuff!
I understand where you are coming from but want to pick your mind a little more.
So, if I baby it, all is well. If I throw it moderately hard into gear, something goes out of sync, the column shifter moves, but it is stuck in that last gear entered.
When in true neutral - the rubber grommets are lining up. What should I be syncing the adjustment(s) too? Should the throws be shortened?
Sounds like I need to grab a 2nd man to clutch and shift while I adjust.
THANK YOU!
