question about my 1970 trannie options

Post by schmidt2169 »

I have a 1970 F100 2 wheel drive with a 302. It currently has a 4 speed with granny low, but i was hoping to find a 5 or even 6 speed transmission. I was just wondering what my options are and where i could find a 5 or 6 speed. Thanks.

for a small block that will be hard to find. maybe if you had a fe you could get one from a f600 or something of that size. if it would fit in your truck.

You can use a five speed from a newer model truck or mustang but the arent the best if you are gonna make much power.

what state are you in? i have a good 5 speed and belhousing forsale.
you can have the yoke lakewood bellhousing and shifter for 500 plus shipping. its been rebuilt and has a new gearset. its the same as a world class t-5. i even have a centerforce clutch. just the clutch not the pressure plate. i need a fine spine for the viper spec 6 speed. i think fisrt gear is 3.25 and the overdrive in .5 not the .86.
