Dually brake drum removal

Post by FLATBEDFORD »

Does anybody know if the drum and hub are one piece on the dana 70 DRW rear? If yes, what size socket for the bearing lock nut?

Depends on the year some some have tabs and some take a special thin wall socket and there is two sizes also all are available at you auto parts store they cost around $20
also you can take the wheel bearing hub off the drum but only when off the truck.

my 1970 and '69 both take the 2-9/16"6R socket UAP/ napa Ultra Pro pt# 62833

I read the label on the package and bought the one for my truck, 2-3/8. I exchanged it for the correct one, 2-9/16 as Leadfoot said. Thanks Leadfoot.
