truck drives itself
ok, i have my truck up on jacks. all fours are off the ground. when the engine is running and the transmission is in neutral the rear tires are turning. and the front driveline is spinning slowly. whats going on. is my gear oil low, is the clutche slipping.? NP-435, Dana 24 transfer case, d-60 rear.

Right, it's normal. Just thick tranny oil turning things. It wouldn't be enough to actually move the truck, but when it's up on jackstands there isn't very much resistance, so....
Try that sometime after a long hot summer drive, when the oil has thinned out...it'll be much less likely to cause that.

ok thanks, i was kind of worried there. i pulled all the plugs on the inspection holes and checked all the oil in all the difs, and axles- needs changed really bad. so i'll get some gear oil and limited slip additive and get that done sunday. today i fanally got it off the jackstands after about 2 months.
