Question:Weird Noise If Hard Acceleration

If I give it too much gas from a standstill I hear a sound that kinda sounds like "a bicycle chain being dragged over a galvanized fence pole/post" or "kinda like an exhaust pipe slapping real quickly against the frame/body of my pickup" anyway if anybody has any ideas, I'd appreciate it .....my transmission doesn't slip....but I just wonder if maybe it's some sort of transmission problem....my motor seems fine...I don't think it's valve clatter...

Marbles in your head

Fan blade might be hitting the shroud. Check motor mounts.

bad motor mount or trans mount? tail shaft rubbing? I would take a good look under your truck.

Used to have a truck with an inline six. If you stepped on it hard the fan would flex and hit the radiator tank just above the fins. Eventually made a nice leak. Oh, and I had good motor mounts.

kinda sounds like it could be the engine pinging... try retarding your timing a little and see if it goes away
